WWE Hall of Fame Member Pedro Morales Passes Away
This past Tuesday February 12, 2019, WWE Hall of Fame 1995 member Pedro Morales, passed away after a longtime battle with Parkinsons Disease while being hospitalized at the Hackensack Meridian Health, Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, New Jersey for the past couple of weeks.
Morales’ nephew Joel Rivera Morales gave the news to our friends of the Puerto Rican Wrestling History Museum’s Facebook page as he told them that in his final days, Pedro fought against the terrible disease with every inch of his life. The now late WWE Legend hailed from Culebra, Puerto Rico and started his professional wrestling career in 1959 all the way until his retirement in 1987. Throughout his career, Morales held several championships, Especially becoming the first Latino in winning the WWE World Championship from 1970-1973, WWE World Tag Team Championship with fellow WWE Hall of Famer: Bob Backlund, WWE Intercontinental and United States Championships including in WWC Puerto Rico’s Early years WWC World Tag Team Championships and also held the now defunct WWC North American Championship twice. (WWC was a member of the NWA back then,) as well as having fought against “Nature Boy” Ric Flair for the NWA World Championship in WWC’s 10th Anniversary Show on September 10,1983., even ten years later in 2013, on WWC’s 40th Anniversary show it was dedicated to him. He was also a regular on the original NWA Championship Wrestling from Florida. (Not to be confused with the WWE’s Development Territory that ran from 2007-2012 before being renamed WWE NXT.)

WWC returns live This Saturday February 15 in Morovis
This Saturday February 16, World Wrestling Council will be live at the Cancha Bajo Techo del Barrio Torrecilla in Morovis, Puerto Rico at 8:30 PM Bell time. On that night there will be a face to face confrontation between current WWC Universal Champion: Xavant and the leader of El Nuevo Sindicato: “The Precious One” Gilbert, along with the return of “El Flamante” Steve Joel and Jesus Velez (both who were recently on the CWA’s Accion Vibrante cards.) as well as Jay-Cobs coming back to WWC. General Admission: $12.00 and Kids 10 and up: $5.00 Tickets will go on sale at 2:00 PM. The regular WWC card is a part of the Road to their 46th Anniversary Show Weekend later this year.
