Here's the latest on WWC's 49th Anniversary Show on Saturday August 6th at the historic Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon. At the July 23 dedication ceremony to WWC Vice President Carlos Colon in his hometown of Santa Isabel, the rumors were confirmed that Colon will be corner of his son, the former 17 time WWC Universal Champion Carlito Carribean Cool when he squares of with Andrade El Idolo in the main event. Idolo requested that WWC Director of Operations "Mr.Raytings" Ray Gonzales be the special referee for the tmatch.
Three more matches have been added tot the show: La Seguridad de The Dynasty (Guevara and J.P.) will defend the WWC World Tag Team Championships against the returning former WWC World Tag Champs La Revolucion (with Orlando Toledo), Hurricane Castillo,Jr., who the show is dedicated to, will go up against the returning "Latino Dorado" Joe Bravo, and "Showman" Mike Nice will defend the WWC World TV Championship Bryan Idol. An opponent for WWC World Junior Champion Emil Roy has yet to be named and a match between Stacy Colon and Charlotte Flair could be in the cards if the new management in WWE gives Charlotte the go ahead to appear. Ric Flair is already scheduled to be in Andrades's corner.
Mucha Lucha Atlanta has a partnership with Major League Wrestling (MLW) and AAA to start television tapings at the Espacio Discoteque in Norcross on Sunday September 18. WWC will join forces with IWA Puerto Rico, LAWE, Ground Zero Wrestling and La Revolucion Femenina for a fundraising event called Luchando Por Genesis (Fighting for Genesis) at the Cancha Bajo Techo Pedro Lopez in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico on Sunday, August 7. Bell time at 5:00 PM. Proceeds from the show go towards "La Chica de la Actitud" Genesis Rivera's medical bills. Genesis has been suffering from cancer since last year.
