- And a tragic sweet sixteen birthday bash it was for Harley Haven. This was the go home show for Wicked Havoc next Friday night at the ProSouth Palace in Piedmont AL.
- A good show I thought. Not quite as strong as last week's which was among ProSouth best episodes of TV ever. ProSouth is becoming a valuable place for talent to be on Friday nights.
- A violent final touch was placed on headline match at Wicked Havoc -- Joe Black vs. Brandon Whatley in a Bloodsport Match.
- Ace Haven was installed as the special referee for the ProSouth title match between Marcus Eriks (c) and. Cabana Man Dan.
- The situation looks ominous for All-Out Champion Aaron Dallas when he meets the devil himself, Trever Aeon.
- Nawfside Heroes will presumably got a fair shot at the combination to the safe containing their tag title belts being held hostage by Exotic Youth,
"Slim" Dave Thomas was the official for each and every match. He got his ass knocked out again.
James Hardy was the ring announcer and so much more.
(1) Aaron Dallas defeated the debuting Dave Stage to retain the All-Out Championship in 8:36. Dallas had his hands full with the strength of Stage. Dallas tried to counter with technique. Stage cut off Dallas' 10 punches of doom in midstream and dominated Dallas with power moves and heelish tactics for several minutes. Both men down after a Dallas enzuigiri with the crowd chanting "A A-Ron". Dallas made the comeback and tried for the AAD. Stage countered with a cobra clutch into a ripcord uranage. Dallas kicked out worse for wear. Stage went back to the cobra clutch. Dallas fought off it off and connected with a Steel Toe that was right on the button.
A strong title defense by Dallas. An opponent with superior size provided Dallas with an opportunity to do a different type of match. I still don't like seeing the babyface being the first one to use closed fists. Dallas made up for the missed finisher last week. This Steel Toe was his best ever. Stage has the physique. His power moves were well executed. Fluid in the ring, he's not.
Postmatch show or respect. Darkthorne gagged on commentary.
Dallas called out Trever Aeon. The music of the Left Hand played and out came "The Ghost" Eric Silva. Silva said Dallas' business with Aeon was his own and promised The Path would stay out of it until they didn't. Silva warned Dallas that was not a devil's door he wanted to knock on.
Stage clubbed Dallas from behind and started to beat him down. Silva stepped in to stop him. Stage bumped Silva' shoulder on his way out.
Nice misdirection play with Stage. Silva always delivers the goods on the mic.
(2) Brandon Whatley defeated Dorian via submission in 6:06. Whatley didn't wait for the bell. Dorian roared back, leading to a swinging neckbreaker for a near fall. Whatley bowled Dorian over with a superkick. Whatley dismantled Dorian with strikes. Love that punch to the kidneys. Dorian tried to fight back but the steam had been taken out of him and Whatley was not letting up. Whatley went after Dorian's leg. Dorian mounted a comeback. Whatley had Dorian's diving clothesline scouted and rolled out of the ring. Dorian's leg gave out as he hopped off the ropes. Whatley attacked the injured knee.
Darkthorne -- This is not gonna be pretty.
Wicked - Neither is Dorian's facial hair but here we are.
Whatley applied a variation of a stretch muffler and Dorian tapped,
Good match overall. Dorian Where was Dorian's sense of urgency after that early near fall? Looked like he waiting for Whatley to take control. The finish was wonky but it got the job done.
Whatley said he hoped Black was watching. He beat Dorian by submission and now he was going to knock Dorian out. The same would happen to Black in seven days. Whatley ordered Slim to call for the bell.
(3) Brandon Whatley defeated Dorian via knockout in 1:29. Despite barely being able to stand, Dorian speared Whatley at the bell. Whatley grabbed the ropes at the count of two. Whatley landed a vicious head kick. Dorian looked to be out. Whatley administered the Kawada kicks to a totally defenseless Dorian. Darkthorne said he was having a flashback. Slim checked Dorian. His arm was limp.
Sadism pure and simple. Whatley beat a crippled opponent into unconsciousness.
Joe Black video. Shot inside Black's car. Joe wondered what motivated Whatley to get into a match with him where the ropes would be taken down and the referee was only there to make sure one of them didn't die. Black said what drove him was more powerful than a V-8 engine.
Black and Whatley have made the Bloodsport match a must see.
Exotic Youth entered and got on the mic. EY asked for the safe alledly containing the tag belt to be brought to ringside. Pepperbottom had been seeing the best neurologists money could buy to resolve his memories problems. Pep pinky-promised Nawfside Heroes he would remember it before the night was over.
The babyfaces attacked. EY put the safe on top of Gabe's leg and Mosley whacked the safe with Cannon's frat paddle. Had to have done more damage to the paddle than Gabe's leg. Nevertheless, Gabe was carried out as pandemonium ensued. When the smoke cleared, we had ourselves a handicap match.
(4) Exotic Youth (Zach Mosley & Bryce Cannon & Cornelius Pepperbottom) defeated 1/2 of the ProSouth Tag Team Champions, Jose Manuel & Josh Breezzy in a handicap match (8:13). Almost entirely EY getting heat on Manuel. Enzurigi by Manuel into a diving tag. to Breezzyy for his moment in the sun. Cannon and Mosley took care of Breezzyy but EY was not paying attention to Manuel. He re-rentered with a double missile dropkick for a short-lived advantage. Cannon tried to hit Manuel with his frat paddle and got Pepperbottom instead. Roll up two count for Manuel. Mosley accidentally superkicked Cannon. Manuel got Mosley in a sleeper. Mosley countered with Wheel Of Fortune for the win.
Whoever came up with the music that played during the postmatch is to be congratulated. Cannon and Mosley laid Manuel out for second time with a paddle shot/neckbreaker combo.
EY had their hands raised. Cannon joined hands with Pepperbottom who was comatose on the mat.
Mosley and Cannon administered CPR to Pepperbottom and carried him to the back face down.
I am a fan of this program. They came up with a new twist on the tired story. of the tired story where the heels steal the title belts. EY knows how to get heat and generate excitement. Taking Gabe out of the match plus the way the match was structured left the visual impression of three against one babyface. Nawfside has been pushed and and their ringwork has risen to the occasion.
Harley Haven's Tragic Birthday Bash hosted by Keast. Birthday gift boxes were stacked up at ringside. A gift box the size of a refrigerator shuffled out to ringside. It was labeled NOT from James Hardy. Harley was in clown face paint and hair, quite the choice for her 16th birthday.
Keast buried an unnamed wrestler (named Donnie Janela) who stole Ace Haven's nickname as part of a fake retirement angle. Keast sang happy birthday to Harley with special self-serving lyrics. He zeroed in on a gift box from Mrs. Garrett. Inside were two balls. Keast said Mrs. Garrett must have gotten them out of her purse, but this must be a new set because they were too large. Keast brought up Breezzyy's threat to crash the party. Garrett blinsided Keast. I expected he might pull out a gun. They started doing wrestling moves, WRESTLING MOVES. Garrett went for his finisher and Harley gave him a low blow. Wicked said that was now legal in Alabama since she was 16. Keast dispatched Garrett with a running knee and ham-handedly cued up The Chicken. Keast asked Harley if she saw the box move. Super Chicken appeared. This chicken was clearly not James Hardy. The fake Chicken gave Keast an abhorrent stink face before Keast subdued him with a Harley Race knee. Keast turned his attention to the box but Breezzyy emerged from the dressing room. They brawled. The birthday girl took a bump onto the stack of birthday boxes. Breezzyy and Keast brawled to the back. Hardy emerged from the gift box and made a run for the cake. Harley confronted him and Hardy threw the cake in the direction of the her face.
It was long on perverse entertainment. Given who was involved and the number of moving parts, how could that not be? Cameron Keast embraced his role as the warped master of ceremonies. The Hardy gag was ridiculous, so true to his character. The cake smash was about as botched as the as the one with Maryse.
Keast and two partners vs. Garrett & Breezy & Hardy was signed for a members only exclusive.
(5) The Primacy (Tony Midas & Brother Azriel) defeated Left Hand Path (Austin Towers & Eric Silva) after Dave Stage speared Silva (16:46). Darkthorne talked about the past history of Midas and LHP. Towers and Azriel got into a chop contest that ended with both of them bare-chested. Towers totally abused Midas. At one point Midas slumped over while sitting on the middle turnbuckle and told Towers to leave him alone. MIdas didn't fare much better against Silva but the heels got heat on Silva after an illegal hotshot by Azriel. There was a long stretch where both heels were in the ring with Towers without a legal switch being made. Towers hit a reverse F5 on Midas. Azriel then pulled Towers out of the ring a picked up a steel chair. Referee Slim got into a tug of war with Azriel for control of the chair. While that was going on, Stage speared Silva. Midas gladly accepted the gift and covered Silva.
There were problems. The total time of the segment was 22 minutes and the match was worked more house show style. Azriel couldn't win a tug of war with a buggy-whip arm referee. Both heels were in the ring with Towers for an eternity. The lucha tag rules are part of what makes ProSouth unique. Ignoring them waters down their effectiveness. Towers and Midas in together was the best thing about the match. Midas got to showcase his personality and comedic ability.
The camera cut to a Stage, grinning and giving a thumbs up.
Working with Silva would be all to Stage's benefit.
Cabana Man Dan via video announced Papa Marko as his pick to oppose Marcus Eriks in the main event.
(6) Pick Your Poison: Papa Marko defeated ProSouth Champion Marcus Eriks by DQ in 9:25. The announce team talked about Eriks having recently completed a triathalon. No wonder his cardio is what it is. Marko ballroom danced his way into a short arm clothesline. Marko was having his way with the champion in the opening minutes. Marko crashed into the turnbuckles as Erik's rolled out of the way. Eriks took over from there. Eriks hit an spinning version of the ME KO that looked outstanding. Marko rolled to the apron. where he drank from a flask and began to Hulk up voodoo style. Erik's punches appeared to have no effect. Marko had the crowd behind him as he mounted a comeback. Marko countered Falling In Reverse by biting Erik's thumb. Marko went for the Tongan Death Grip. Eriks was fighting a losing battle trying so he kicked Marko in the nuts for the DQ, and twice more just because.
Solid match, not much heat. The idea Marko could to beat the champion was a tough sell. Marko struck a balance between the voodoo stuff and being a serious competitor.
Eriks turned to referee Slim and slugged him. Slim went down face first.
Commissioner Amy Haven was exasperated with Eriks putting his hands on her officials every week. Amy had an official for Wicked Havoc, she knew Eriks wasn't going to put his hands on.
Ace Haven appeared wearing a referee shirt. Ace offered to shake Eriks' hand. Eriks went for a sucker punch. Ace blocked and laid Eriks out with a superkick as the screen went to black.
I find it very interesting.that Ace would book himself into this position,
