This very special Thanksgiving Edition is dedicated to the memories of WWN Proving Ground star D'Lo Jordan as well as WWE legends Owen Hart, "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, "The Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman, "Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero and "The Crippler Chris Benoit.
Lance Storm left the WWE in 2005. It had been four years since Vince McMahon bought rival WCW leading to The Alliance Invasion that Storm was a part of. Storm twice won the WWE Intercontinental Championship and held the RAW World Tag Team Championships twice with Christian and also with William Regal and Val Venis. Storm started his own wrestling school in the summer of that year called the Storm Wrestling Academy, located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Storm was a graduate of the famous Stu Hart Dungeon, and had over twenty years of experience in the Squared Circle touring throughout his native Canada, Japan, Mexico and all over America, from teaming up with Chris Jericho as The Thrillseekers in Smoky Mountain Wrestling to ECW, WCW, and of course, WWE. Storm became a teacher and trainer to future wrestling superstars. Storm Wrestling Academy was seen throughout the CTV and CBC news as well as their own show World of Hurt. In 2009, it even had a working relationship with Edmonton, Alberta's Prairie Wrestling Alliance. Graduates from the Storm Wrestling Academy, who came from all over the world to train there include JR Trinidad (Puerto Rico), Deryck Crosse, Benjamin English, Rage O'Riley, CJ Strongheart, Sweet Lou, Collin Cuttler, Billy Suede, T-Bone, Kennedy Kendrick, Nick Zander, Lee Montana, Chase Patrick,Simon Tellier, The Kelownafornians (Adama and Colin), Taya Valkyre, Mattias Wilde, Tyler Breeze, Mo Jabari (Kid Chocolate),Ryan Lebel,Simon Martel, Garrett Graves, Nick Price and Andrew "The Shark" Carter (Canada). Eagle Mask,Tristan Archer (WWE Cruiserweight Classic competitor Clement Petoit),The French Stallion, and Tom La Ruffa (fka Sylvester LeFort) (France),Marcus Brash, Marcel Gibbons, Steve Barter, Chris Petherwick, Chili Dick (from the United Kingdom),Johnny Attitude (USA) and finally the Storm Wrestling Academy graduates from Australia: Tennile Dashwood (fka Emma in WWE), the now retired Jessie McKay and KC Cassidy (fka Billie Kay and Peyton Royce), Australian Suicide (AAA star and real life husband to Puerto Rican wrestler Vanilla Vargas), Carlo Cannon, Peter Steel, Sean O'Shea, Luke Watts, Kane (Mikey), Bolelyn, Chilli Richards, and Gorgeous Garry Schmidt. Guests who appeared at the Academy included Edge and Canadian stuntman Paul Lazenby. After 14 years of training and molding the best students into International Wrestling stars, the Storm Wrestling Academy gave their last physical class in November 2019. The facility itself closed their doors, though the SWA still gives wrestling classes online.
The next generation of the Hart Family newest wrestling promotion is Dungeon Wrestling owned by "The Hitman" Bret and Julie Hart's sons, Blade and Dallas Hart and Storm Wrestling Academy graduate Kid Chocolate. Like the old historic former NWA member promotion Stampede Wrestling owned by Stu Hart and the now defunct Hart Legacy Wrestling, Dungeon Wrestling is also from Calgary, Alberta, Canada and was launched on April 8th of This year. Dallas, Blade and Kid Chocolate want to make this new promotion special with having the classic tradition of Stampede to a new generation of fans throughout the Alberta province as well as throughout Canada. with following the footsteps of their late Grandfather making the Calgary Wrestling scene great again, Since their past few events from Bars,Breweries, First Nations, even up to local gyms in High School and Salvation Army corps throughout Alberta. Dungeon Wrestling has the best wrestling superstars Western Canada has to offer: from the likes of Taryn From Accounting, Cody Mac, Ava Lawless, Zoe Sager, Steven Crowe, and Dewey Robson and special guest appearances by former WWE Superstars: "The Masterpiece " Chris Masters, now wrestling in NWA, The Bollywood Boys, and current MLW Superstar and former NWA World Tag Team Champion David Hart Smith (son of the late Davey Boy Smith), Impact Wrestling Superstar: Raj Singh, son of The Great Gamma Singh (who wrestled in WWC Puerto Rico from the 1980s until 1994), The Billington Bulldogs (sons of the late Dynamite Kid) and former NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Nick Aldis. Dungeon Wrestling hopes to tour the United States in the near future.
Two well known wrestling family dynasties from Mexico are The Moreno and Wagner dynasties, much like the Von Erichs in Texas, the Colons of Puerto Rico, the Harts of Calgary and The Guerrero and Ontiveros Families in El Paso. The Moreno-Wagner Dynasties have a rich heritage of Lucha Libre throughout the South of the Border. "El Acorazado" Alfonso Moreno, a native of Nezahualcóyotl, won several regional championships in Mexico as well by promoting with his wife, Moreno created the Arena Azteca Budokan located at Av Chimalhuacán 424, Benito Juárez, in their hometown in 1961, Alfonso well having to trained his daughters: Rossy, Cinthia, Alda and Esther along with his son, El Oriental making them legends throughout their years in the Japanese and Mexican wrestling circuits. Manuel González Rivera, the first Doctor Wagner, native of Zacatecas, wrestled throughout Mexico in the 1960s and won several regional championships including the NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship, He and fellow luchador, the original Angel Blanco won the CMLL Mexican National and Occidente (Western Mexican States) Tag Team Championships along with winning the now defunct NWA Americas Tag Team Championships at NWA Los Angeles in August 30,1974. Wagner was also responsible for training both his sons, Dr.Wagner Jr. and the late Silver King and nephew El Galeno. Both patriarchs are no longer with us, Moreno passed away on February 14,1999 and Dr.Wagner passed away on September 12, 2004. The dynasties are very close. Dr. Wagner Jr. was married to Rossy Moreno, They have two sons. Hijo de Doctor Wagner who held championships in Mexico as well as in Japan's Pro Wrestling NOAH where he held the GHC Tag Team Championship with former WWE Superstar Rene Dupree. Hijo de Dr. Wagner's brother, Galeno Del Mal (The Evil Doctor) alongside their cousin, Hijo de Silver King have been making noise throughout Mexico. The Moreno and Wagner dynasties still run shows at Arena Azteca Budokan with either interpromotional partnerships with AAA, Lucha Libre, CMLL or independent promotions throughout the area including a brief partnership with Can Am Wrestling from Calgary and at the same time being a development ground for the next generation of Mexican luchadores: like Alma Negra, Septimo Elemento, Diosa Maya and more.
After a successful outing in Federacion Lucha Pro's Justicia Letal event in Juncos, Puerto Rico, "The Werewolf Huntress" Carmine Velkan returns to Georgia at Pro Wrestling Caribbean's Year end event Christmas Mayhem from Club La Estacion in Gainesville,Georgia on Sunday December 18, where Velkan will go up against "La Barbie Potosina" Siomara in a rematch. In the main event: LAWE Superstar "The White Shadow" Mark Davidson defends the PWC World Championship against former Champion "The Mexican Rockstar" Vary Morales, plus WWN Proving Ground star Gus De La Vega will make his debut and more. Vega Alta's Borinquen Sports Promotion Pro Wrestling's Road to their 30th Anniversary Show begins with their Reaction live event in association Felix Perez Matias Entertainment from the Cancha Bajo Techo Comunidad La Sierra in Road 172,Caguas,Puerto Rico on Saturday December 3rd, Bell time at 8:30 PM BSP's 30th Anniversary event is set for Saturday December 17th, site to be announced. So far, the return of former BSP World and International Champion “La Máquina de destruccion" Lloyde and former BSP World Champion: "El Emperador" Maximus and the debut of The Camacho Brothers in Puerto Rico have been announced for the anniversary show. Camacho Brothers made a name for themselves throughout the Lone Star State from New Texas Pro Wrestling, DFW Wrestling and Booker T.'s Reality of Wrestling in Houston.
