Saturday, August 31st. the World Wrestling Council, the oldest, most respected wrestling promotion in Puerto Rico celebrated its 51st Anniversary Show at the historic Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon.
with a record-breaking attendance of almost 12,000 fans live, from the Meet and Greet to the Kickoff matches to the main matches of the event, This year's WWC Anniversary Show is a huge success. also, we have seen the very last time two of the promotions' all-time greats, Shane Sewell, The Glamour Boy, returned to the Island the show is dedicated to him and being the referee in the WWC Universal Championship match. and WWC co-founder, WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2014: Carlos Colon, who the fans and wrestlers alike gave thanks for the very last time. Colon, who for the past few years has been battling against the ravages of Parkinson's disease was attending at ringside with his daughter, Stacy Colon. on that night, There were Championship title changes, Ray Gonzales became the new WWC Universal Champion for the 22nd time defeating Intelecto Cinco Estrellas after Cinco Estrellas pushed Shane. Sewell decked him. "El Heroe de la Nacion" Xavant became both WWC Puerto Rican and Caribbean Champion beating "El Hombre que no es Facil" Gilbert in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match, "La Artilleria Pesada" Lightning and "El Rabioso" Mr. Big became the new WWC World Tag Team Champions crushing Black Pain and El Dragon Nihan (with "Pretty Boy" Orlando Toledo), "La Jefa" Stephany Amalbert became the newly crowned WWC Women's World Champion beating "La Guerrera" Amazona and MLW star Jazzy Yang in a triple threat match. The WWC Women's Championship returned and was reactivated after almost fifteen years of dormancy. Bull Anthony once again became the WWC World Junior Champion defeating El Informante," El Patron" Alberto Del Rio retained the AAA Lucha Libre Worldwide Mexico's Mega World Championship beating the former champion, "The Most Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler) who still is the current TNA World Champion, Ryan Nemeth beat Jimmy Wang Yang, and who cannot forget the Mini Mixed Tag team match the kids and fans loved. Through their media tours throughout the Island, publicity, and massive fanfare in the promotions' 51 years of history already solidified the World Wrestling Council's legacy. London was a part of Ring of Honor's early years, then he was in WWE as a part of the SmackDown! brand, having held the first version of the brand's WWE Tag Team Championships with other former WWE stars: Billy Kidman and Brian Kendrick along with having held the now-defunct WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
