From Alfred Feliciano:
As we are now counting the days for the oldest, most respected wrestling promotion on the Island, World Wrestling Council Puerto Rico's 52nd Anniversary Show live from the historic Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon on Saturday, August 30th, this year's Anniversary Show is dedicated to the memory of the late Julio Estrada, "Mr.Hardcore" Rico Suave, who passed away earlier this year. There will also be a Lifetime Achievement award for Dr. Hector Gonzalez.
Newly crowned WWC Universal Champion: "El Chico Ilegal" El Chicano will defend the title against the leader of El Nuevo Orden, "El Capitan" Xavant, now former WWE star and The Judgment Day member, Carlito Caribbean Cool, and one -half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions, Matt Hardy (who with his brother, Jeff recently appeared in WWE NXT on the CW network) In a Fatal-four way match. Even though Matt is returning to the Island, this is his first appearance in WWC's Anniversary Show since 2016, when his brother, Jeff, appeared on the promotion's 46th Anniversary Show's Three-night weekend at that time, which was dedicated to the memory of the late Pierre Martel. a mainstay for WWC Puerto Rico throughout the promotion's golden years as a former NWA member on the Island until 1988. Martel left WWC in 1984. Will "El Chico Ilegal" retain the title that night?, Will Xavant or Carlito reclaim the WWC Universal Championship?, or will Matt Hardy become the new WWC Universal Champion on that special evening, taking it home back to Cameron, North Carolina as well as possibly defending it either on any well-know or Indy promotions be it Stateside or Worldwide, even defending the WWC Universal title at either TNA Impact's or WWE NXT's TV tapings? Espiritu Pro Wrestling alumni, Elaine Negroni, defends the WWC Women's World Championship against former women's champion, "La Jefa" Stefany Amalbert, with "La Reina" Habana as the Special Guest referee. Will Negroni retain the gold? Or will "La Jefa" become the WWC Women's World Champion once again? Owner of Lionheart Wrestling Association in Florida, and former WWC Universal and IWA Puerto Rico World Champion, El Leon Apolo (w." La Reina" Habana) will take on former AAA Lucha Libre Worldwide Mega World Champion, "El Patrón" Alberto Del Rio for the first time in a Puerto Rico vs. Mexico match. Since the news stemming from this year's WrestleMania in Las Vegas, Nevada, AAA Lucha Libre Worldwide is now a part of the WWE family. The rumors on the internet and social media about Del Rio's return to WWE will be coming out as soon as we think. But will he beat El Leon de Ponce that night? Or will Apolo crush the former AAA and WWE Champion to a pulp? "El hombre que no es fácil" Gilbert and Lightning will take on The Good Brothers ("The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows). This will be Gallows and Anderson's second WWC Anniversary Show appearance on the Island, freshly released from WWE in February of this year, and they returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling as well as debuted at the newly formed Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling in Canada. Will these OG Bullet Club members have the W beating Gilbert and Lightning, leaving their mark on that night? WWC Director of Operations, La Maravilla Eddie Colon, will take on his most hated rival, "Mr.Raytings" Ray Gonzales, in a match where if Gonzales loses, he must retire. In that match, there will be two referees, Orlando Toledo and a referee hand-picked by Gonzales himself. Eddie Colon has one weakness; his blind hatred towards Gonzales will also cost him everything, too. If what he did to strip his brother, Carlito from the WWC Puerto Rican Championship at the past event in the Jose Pepin Cestero Arena in Bayamon could show that both Carlito and Eddie will face each other again, Here is a little refresher and taster on what happened to the both of them, that led up to their match on the promotion's 31st Anniversary Show back in 2004. as a reminder that the rivalry between both brothers, former WWE Superstars, will face off against each other one more time, This time for the control of WWC causing the brother rivalry reaching boiling new heights.
Washington Heights, Manhattan native, "La Crema" Tony Leyenda defends the WWC Puerto Rican Championship in a Triple-threat match against Joe Anthony and "El Patron" Alberto Del Rio's younger brother, El Hijo de Dos Caras, who is also returning to the Island, and WWC's most important event of the year.Celebrating its 52nd Anniversary Show. Will Leyenda successfully retain the WWC Puerto Rican title?, Will Anthony become the new champion? Or will the former Memo Montenegro take the WWC Puerto Rican Championship back home to San Luis Potosi, Mexico, celebrating his victory with his brother, Alberto Del Rio, their father, Dos Caras, Sr, and uncles. WWE Hall of Famer, Mil Mascaras, and Sicodelico. Along with cousin Sicodelico, Jr. as an achievement for the legendary lucha family?
