Broken was a straightforward wrestling show. You know, the kind of show ProSouth rarely ever does.

ProSouth Wrestling was tested over the last ten days by Ace Haven's injury.  The company's indomitable cockroach energy prevailed.

A tag team tournament to determine a number one contender was launched. The first round matches provided the best tag team wrestling in a ProSouth ring in quite some time.

The returning Talladega Knights vs. the debuting Vanguard was a breath of fresh air, a tag match worth going out of your way to watch. Vanguard Interview link:  Pro Wrestling Underground--Special Edition: "The Vanguard"

Talladega Knights vs. Pierce & ???? takes place on Episode 800 Friday night. Vanguard are set to square off with Good Brothers for AWE on Sunday.

Ayden Andrews lent a hand to Christian Pierce who was without  Julian Balderas. Andrews and Pierce won the match to advance in the tournament. Through this odd set of circumstances, Atonement  is maybe back together and Andrews is simultaneously part of the championship team and  the potential  number one contender.

Oliver Green ended Justin McKenzie's ProSouth career last week, this week  Green upset KJ  Valentine to win the All-Out Championship.     

Episode 800  is stacked with all kinds of nostalgia and interesting personalities: Donnie Primetime & Sal Rinauro vs.Chris Crunk & Steven Michaels; Rolando Perez challenges Oliver Green for the All-Out Championship; Team Terry (Ace's father) vs. Team Amy; Joe Black vs. TragiCK (with Harley Haven) and Brother Azriel returns vs. Caeden Ooten.                                                            

Wicked Nemesis and Mathias Darkthorne on the case in the booth. Darkthore did the ring announcing. Kevin Tubbs was back as a ref, joining the venerable Joseph Void. Emma was the ringside videographer.                                                                                      

(1) Oliver Green defeated KJ Valentine to win the All-Out Championship in 8:44. Green gave the champion all he could handle, forced him to use up his ropes break after hitting two Green Arrows. Displaying that big cockroach energy, Green kicked out off a fisherman bomb and a top rope double stomp. Valentine was losng his mind. He lurched towards Green with a heart-shaped furry pillow. Let the ref take it away so he could grab his mini-baseball bat. Green and Valentine struggled for control of the bat.. Green hit himself. The ref saw Green down and was about to DQ Valentine when Green rolled the champion up.

Green has a rocket strapped to his ass. KId has to get some meat on dem bones.  I hope KJ dropping the belt doesn't mean he's on the way out.The camera loves him. He gets performance and the dude can talk. Introducing a heart-shaped pillow was  so in synch with the motif.

Christian Pierce implored Julian Balderas to show up for their match in the tag team tournament.

(2) Jabari Jaku (with Raheem) pinned former president Jon Averson with a choke slam at 1:59. Averson was running for his life. Once Jaku got his hands on Averson, it was all over but the crying.

The squash match Jaku need to have. A few more wouldn't hurt before he gets to Brother Azriel.

(3) Talladega Knights (Hunter Drake & Tyler Franks with Garrett Kent) defeated Vanguard (Raylen Albey & Jake Parker with Koa Kamai) to advance in the tag team tournament (14:51). Albey was overpowering Franks with an overabundance of confidence. Franks used his agility to outmaneuver him. Drake was fighting an uphill battle against Parker. Albey made a blind tag while Parker had Drake in a headlock. Drake ducked Parker's lariat  and got dropped by Albey's DDT. Vanguard made Drake suffer. Great execution on the spot where Albey pulled Franks off the apron to prevent a tag. Drake used Parker's momentum to send him over the top rope but Albey caught Parker on his back and hoisted him back in. The mauling of Drake was relentless. Drake knocked Albey down with  handspring back elbow and the tag was finally made. Franks hit a step through corkscrew neckbreaker and Knights set up for their finisher. Parker shrugged it off and  Drake was againt being demolished. Franks saved him and the teams traded forearms in stereo until Drake was toast.  

Vanguard tried for Front & Center. Drake got away and hit a tope suicida on Parker and Kamail. TK's finisher was Drake's top rope double stomp as Franks gave Albey a corkscrew neckbreaker

An excellent tag match, technically sound and with fluid use of ProSouth's hybrid  tag rules. Drake's selling was terrific, like making it to his corner was a matter of life and death. Albey's ring presence made an impression. Parker comes across as crude and brutal brawler, who doesn't give a rip about hurting people. Frank is lighting quick and shows classic babyface fire. Nobody loses in a match like this.

(4)  Joe Wood defeated Caeden Ooten (with Harley Haven) in 6:11. Ooten had Wood in his sights for the Harpoon when TragiCK got in the ring and took the bullet for Wood. Ooten sorta gave Wood an Honor Roll for a two count. Wood dodged a harpoon and put Ooten away with the Woodchipper.

Wood took that Honor Roll all wrong. Good thing he's indestructible. A mortal man might have gotten his neck broke. 

Scott Adams charged into the ring and laid his hands on TragiCK, screaming about Cameron Keast being in there. Adams didn't have a mic so it must have been a shoot, right? He smacked Tragick upside the head. TragiCK threw Adams into the corner and blasted him with two running knees to mouth before Ooten pulled Adams out of the ring. 

(5) Atonement (Ayden Andrews & Christian Pierce) defeated Cross Country (Christian Garrett & Sean Nelson) to advance in the tag team tournament (13:24). Wouldn't you know it? Balderas in fact did not show up for the match. Pierce had to go it alone. 

After Cross County beat the living daylights out of Pierce for three minutes or so, Andrews came out to tag with him. Atonement was soon in firm control of the match. Garrett took a pounding from Pierce in Atonement's corner. Atonement broke out a facelock/basement dropkick combo. Nelson broke up the pin and Pierce beat on him until he dropped off the apron.  Nelson illegally replaced  Void let it go. Andrews took a slam off the top rope amd got spiked  with a draping DDT courtesy of Nelson. Ayden was in a bad way.  Andrews hit a desparation STO on Nelson and both men crawled for tags. Pierce ran wild. Atonement laid Cross Country out with Pedigrees in stereo  and Pierce pinned Garrett.

Andrews helped Pierce up. They locked eyes. Andrews rolled out leaving Pierce to to digest what just happened.

This made it two top notch tag matches in the same episode. Loved  the aggressiveness displayed by all four.  Atonement's last appearance as a tag team was October 2024. They were the ProSouth Champions at the time and the title changed hands without Atonement being defeated. Joe Wood must be like WTF? It will most interesting to see who partners with Pierce Friday night.
