From Larry Goodman:
The Prince is the King. Jacob Johnson's 22 month reign as the Deep South Champion has come to an end. Prince Apollo is the new DSW Champion after pinning Johnson in a four way Double Jeopardy match.
Najasism crossed over to the dark side. The Hoochie Daddy has arrived. Performances like this one made Naja Georgia's Wrestler of the Year in 2024.
Deep South Wrestling returned to the friendly confines of New Realm Brewing after a one-week rain delay. Attendance was how ever many people could fit in that space at any given time. Minimum 300. It's a free show right on The Beltline. Get there early if you want a seat.
Eric Adamz rolled with the punches and booked a hell of a show. I can't say enough about how in tune the Deep South product is with their easy living audience. Show was two hours and out. Heat to burn. Somewhere Jody Hamilton is smiling.
The live commentary by Nathan Hamilton and Drew" Drewski" Dickinson added something to the proceedings.
Adamz opened with announcements. Crazzy Steve couldn't make it due to trans issues. DSW doe not have a great track record when it comes to star bookings. The great news for them is their audience doesn't care.
Gemma Jewels was sick so her match with Audrey Allen was off. To spice things up, Adamz made a match where Johnson, Najasism, Jay Alpha Miller and Prince Apollo all had something at stake. Johnson's title, Naja's hair, Miller's DSW contract and no title shots for Apollo for 1 year.

They leaned into establishing credible wrestling. DMA gave CT shots to the kidneys but the spot that really got heat was DMA standing on CT's throat while CT was bent over backwards. They jockeyed for position on the top rope. DMA took the bump and CT pinned him with a swanton bomb. Match was fine, not their best. Crowd did react with not the pent up energy opening matches often get.

Professor Pain and 40oz C-Dub made their way to the ring. Pain is insanely over. Pain introduced Cuatro Cabezas as his new partner. Their mission was to honor the originator of Deep South Wrestling, Jody Hamilton and the tradition of great masked tag teams like the Assassins by going after the DSW Tag Team Championship. Getting a crowd of casuals into a concept from
(3) Cosmo Martinez defeated Nathaniel Vanderbilt via submission in 8:37. Adamz planted a seed in his opening -- Cosmo was an original at New Realm and would Vanderbilt said he was worth 217 million and was wearing white wide receiver gloves. Vanderbilt took big bumps for Cosmo's flying moves and was taking way too much time going for pins. Cosmo's character was the perfect contrast. Beat him with a Fujiwara armbar. Great choice of subs for a small babyface. Right place, right time, right ideas.
Adamz rewarded Cosmo with a DSW Championship match at the New Realm show in August.
-- Intermission--
Buddy, one of DSW's biggest fans walked the stage for his high school graduation in the ring with the help of Professor Pain and C-Dub. This was featured on 11 Alive news.
Austin Towers interrupted the kid's graduation.
I missed the above. What I can say for sure is Towers and Stunt Marshall were doing great things on the mic when I got back to my seat. Dudes were getting heat. Towers displayed a gift for gab and was at his most entertaining.
Adamz, Pain and C-Dub came out to assist Stunt. Towers spit on Adamz to reignite their issues. If any match is going to get Adamz out of retirement, this is the one.
Pain stepped up for a match with Towers. He doesn't cotton to bullies. Towers was A-OK with this and offered to put his GIPW belt on the line.
(5) Prince Apollo defeated Jacob Johnson (c) and Najasism and "Teflon" Jay Alpha Miller in a Double Jeopardy match to win the DSW Championship (14:10). Miller was taking to his American flag. Body of the match was babyface-heel, Johnson & Naja working as a cohesive babyface unit, Naja taking heat. They all killed it in the final minutes of this match. Johnson had a great hot tag. Naja went all out in his finale as a babyface -- stacked up punches of doom, a double shotgun dropkick and a double tope for icing on the cake. Johnson took Miller out with a World's Strongest Slam. Apollo smashed Johnson to smithereens with a pair of powerbombs. Naja accidentally frog splashed Johnson in a last ditch effort to save him. Prince shitcanned Naja and covered to become the new DSW Champion. DSW made a bold choice by ending Johnson' reign by putting the title on Apollo.
Naja crumbled Johnson with low blows and went full blown Hoochie Daddy to send the people home with something to chew on.
Adamz reviewed what is already on tap for June 29.
Gemma Jewels vs. Audrey Allen to crowd the first DSW Women's Champion since 1987.
A four way to crown the inaugural New Realm Champion -- James Storm vs. Matt Sells vs. TBA vs. TBA
Pain vs. Towers presumably for the dormant GIPW Championship
NOTES: Skrilla The Great, Hakeem Young, Tyreke and Dallas Kage were among those in circulating in the crowd...40oz C-Dub killed it at the merch table. He sold out all four of his t-shirts...Paul Santa and Richard Buznego were the referees...Tony Allen was the ring announcer..."The Voice of DSW" Michael Longino was helping out at ringside...Two matches in, Dee Munny located the bell under the ring...DSW's next show is at Atlanta Dairies on June 21..DMA. brought up his service in the Air Force and his black belt in jiu-jitsu as part of his promo.
